Travelling through London on my way back home for the exhibition this weekend (Grantchester Village Hall, 10am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday) and took the oppourtunity to snap some of the underground and Paddington station.

Stairway to Heaven
I've downloaded a new photography app onto my phone, called Vignette. At the moment I've only got the demo version so picture size is limited but I'm enjoying it so far and might upgrade soon. This picture is taken using the Platinotype effect, which is one of my favourites so far.

The sun has got his hat on
It's beautifully sunny and really rather hot here in Bristol so I went on a wander through the surrounding streets to get to known the neighbourhood a bit better. In the continuing theme of interesting back doors, I though this one reflected the weather and the mood very well.

The first of many...

The Challenge
So today begins another new year of my life, I turned 22 on the 22nd. This year I've decided to set myself a challenge: to document a full year through photographs. The plan is to take and post one photograph per day showing the everyday places and people around me. I'm hoping this will allow me to improve my photography and allow me to explore different styles. The majority, if not all, of the photographs will be shot on my phone using the inbuilt camera and various camera apps and using as little editing as possible (give or take the app effects).
So here goes with my first picture:
